Ile de France District grows together for World Thinking Day

World Thinking Day

Sunday, 26 February 2017 saw 110 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members from 11 units in and around Paris come together for an afternoon of fun activities and a treasure hunt to celebrate World Thinking Day.

World Thinking Day

Leaders ran activities chosen from the WAGGGS ‘Let it Grow’ WTD 2017 activity pack to enable the girls to collect jigsaw puzzle pieces as they completed each activity and find the location of the missing seeds of change.

World Thinking Day

From a poisonous spider web game; snowball fights; Bollywood dancing; giant noughts and crosses; creative storytelling; singing; making your wish for the world; growing Lady Olave Baden’s garden; Our Chalet challenges; and an Our Cabana game: there really was something for everyone!

World Thinking Day

Clare Pope, Ile de France joint District Commissioner, said: “We wanted to give our girls the opportunity to come together, make new friends from around the district, grow different skills and most of all to have fun! The ‘Let it Grow’ theme was also a great way of looking forward to Spring and thinking about new growth.”

World Thinking Day

The girls gave the event a big thumb’s up and everyone went away with a sunflower seed to plant at home or within their unit. The event raised more than 200 euros for the World Thinking Day Fund.
