Girlguiding Toulouse Celebrates 25 Years

This year, Girlguiding Toulouse is celebrating its 25th anniversary and to mark this anniversary, on February 25th 2017, over 100 girls and leaders met at the AIRBUS Henri Ziegler Delivery Centre to celebrate in style.

The girls took part in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities, fun games and commemorative crafts, shared cake and even had front row seats as a brand-new Singapore Airlines A350 left the Delivery Centre for its flight home.

The Head of the Delivery Centre, Frank Schreiber, visited and took questions from the girls in a lively discussion ranging from, “How many aeroplanes do Airbus Toulouse make?” to “Do you enjoy your job?”

Afterwards, Frank commented “I was delighted to host you for your anniversary, taking some really tough questions from the audience. I look forward to the day, when perhaps one of the girls from the audience will be standing in front of a similar group, as Head of the Delivery Centre, answering equally tough questions.”

Martha Bienvegnu, from 2nd Toulouse Brownies echoed the sentiments of many of the girls saying ""it was really fun and amusing and the bit I liked best was the balloon activity because I love doing experiments”.

As part of our anniversary year, we are supporting the Croix Rouge Française, and the girls have been collecting shoeboxes filled with essentials and gifts for children.

Between them, they collected almost €300 in loose change and toiletry bags issued by hotels and airlines, all of which have been distributed to local families and people in need.
