At the end of last year Benelux and France County held a badge competition for its young members to design a badge to be awarded to attendees of County events in 2020.
We had singing, dancing and acting classes in the various age ranges from Rainbows to Rangers. All the girls had a chance to take part in each workshop and at the end of the day, the teachers brought everything together and there was a performance for the parents.
This year we will be running a special event for each section, this has started with a Rainbow party. Across the county units and districts hosted 7 separate parties on a princes or pyjama theme. The parties ran at the same time and were linked up virtually, each group sang a song for the other Rainbows and then they all sang the Rainbow song together at the end.
In the Spring Term 2018, 1st The Hague Brownies looked at the taster packs for the New Programme and decided to have a go at ‘Trefoil Trivia” and “Odd Socks”. From that the Brownies completed the World Guiding and Toymaker badges.
Recently, 3 Guides from The Hague completed their Baden Powell Awards and were presented with their badges and certificates.
This term, 2nd The Hague Rainbows worked on their Roundabout Festivals badge.
3rd The Hague Guides had a great time on a photo trail in the old centre of The Hague trying to track down the items in the photos amongst the historic buildings, museums, parliament and monuments.
3rd The Hague Guide unit went camping over the long Ascension Day weekend. The theme was survival. The Guides who are working on their Baden Powell awards certainly survived.
During the Autumn term, we had many new Guides and we quickly realised that with so much talent in the unit we just had to put on a Gang Show.
2nd The Hague Brownies decided that they would finish the autumn term with a Grand Performance for the parents. The Brownies had previously made their own instruments which they played at the performance; there was also some singing, tap dancing and a short play. Not to mention a violin solo. The girls also wanted to have a ‘Guess the number of badges’ on the Blanket competition.
